What is OSMOSiS Shell and what does it do?

OSMOSiS Shell is a terminal emulator with some built-in function specifically for OSMOSiS functionality such as the logging to Accounts.

Using an MDI form enables the user to have multi windows open – yes this does mean a license is required for each window open.

You can logon to a session directly using an IP address and telnet port number from the left-hand-side bar. Alternatively you can select an Account and go straight to TCL with the system entering the logon information for you.

By right mouse clicking on a session window, a menu is displayed allowing; copying contents to – clipboard, printer, textbox and email. The menu also allows the user to lock their session asking for a password to unlock, this is useful for lunch breaks or when the user is away from their machine temporarily.

The properties option allows you to allocate a Function Key to text. For example if you want the code – 'MNENQ' on F3, when you press F3 it will execute 'MNENQ'. You can also have multiple executions using a <Return>.

Below is a picture of a jBASE bound function to change the Bin and Lib of where the cataloging path is going to be. In the list is simply all Accounts setup on the system with the path of the Account. This can be selected whilst at TCL to set the Bin and Lib before CATALOG commands are types.
